As a child I found myself spending hours practicing origami on the living room floor loosing myself in concentration and time disappearing. Kumi Yamashita’s origami art is beautifully simple and elegant. I find this piece simply stunning – to imagine the amount of time that must have been spent to carefully bend and fold each piece square to form such distinctive silhouette profiles completely amazes me. Each color sheet on the wall is lit from the right, which casts a silhouette of a human profile on to the wall. Simply beautiful.
